Hi Fellow Enthusiasts,

I just picked up my CTR last weekend and have about 350 miles on it now. Completely stock at the moment.

I just noticed when cruising with my windows down, that I have a metallic noise when engine braking only. Sounds like a faint grinding perhaps? At first I thought it was noise coming from the brakes as I've had my fair share of rocks get caught in there already but it can't be. As soon as I touch the accelerator at all (5% throttle), it goes away, or if I coast in neutral. As soon as I put it back into gear to coast, I hear the noise. Its not loud but definitely there.

Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal? I tried searching other threads but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

This is almost certainly the waste gate actuator noise, which is entirely "normal" according to Honda. Many other FK8 owners (including myself) have this noise. It's typically described as a gingling keys sound.

Thank you for the reply! I figured it was probably normal. Thats quite the noisy waste gate.
