Any fellow FK8 owners experience this?

You are turning into a parking spot. at under 5kph/3mph, When you turn the steering wheel , while applying very little throttle, and the front end of the car produces some metallic clicking noise, and you feel that one of the front tires hops/skids around a little bit.

This happened only while making a very slow turn. Happened mostly when it's cold outside ( 5C/ 40F or under) It doesn't happen when I am going above that speed.

I have read that it might be due to the LSD? Or is it not normal?

The same thing happened to me. I had a rock pebble in my beak roter dust shield. The guys at the dealership took my wheel off and got it out for me. Several others on this forum had the same thing happen. Probably happens because of the soft rubber compound tire kicking the pebble in. Hope this helps

Dunno about the clicking but the skipping is what i would expect from an LSD.

It’s the dust shield vibrating from a rock

This one's not a rock...rocks in dust shield would make a scraping sound.

I've had the same thing as OP. Someone said it's normal for LSD.

Same issue for me as well, wondering if it's just the LSD.

only a handful of FK8 owners have this issue?

Has anyone send the car back to the dealer to mitigate the problem? BTW, where are the brake rotor dust shield located?

I could be way off... But on my Z06, some cars get metallic ticking sound when turning at low speeds. Heard it's just an effect of the floating disc brakes.

Also the wheel "hopping" when turning at low speeds could be due to the Ackerman Effect. It's very pronounced on my car when tires are cold and turning sharply at low speeds.

The hopping while it’s cold is the tires. Assuming you’re still on the factory ones. They do not do well in the cold. The window sticker even had a warning that you shouldn’t drive on the factory tires below 50 I think. The tire’s rubber compound will cause the tire to hop.
