The map lights came on in the last Honda I had. This was bugging me that my new car didn’t have this feature. So after a quick look at the electrical diagram and fishing the wire between the headliner. I made it happen :) i’ll be getting LEDs later today so there’s less draw on the body control unit which operates the domelight for Dimming. The map lights turn on and off normally and so does the domelight

Is this for the LX/Sport models? I'm pretty sure my hatch ex is already doing this or there was a setting for it in the menus.

LX Coupe does not do this.

The dome light triggers with the door opening or unlock/lock.

The map lights only light when physically pushed.

The op has a Sport.

Just did my wife's Sport. Makes a huge difference especially with her tint.

Any specific gauge to use with this?
I used 18 gauge simply because I had a leftover piece from who knows what sitting on my workbench.

Where do you get the pins to push into the connector?

That's pretty brilliant- putting two light assemblies in parallel together. In a parallel circuit, the current gets divided per how many lines are in parallel and then add up to total current at the common end of the branches. If power is killed to the back, then it's also killed up front (when door is closed/opened). They go hand in hand!

So i need a wire stripper and electrical tape I’m assuming? And what other electrical components do I need to buy to do this work myself?

I just used new wire and one 3m scotchlok that is it, no need for tape or any other tools, simple mode, takes just 10 minutes.
