Hello, I'm curious on what RPM range does the manual 1.5T stays at around 75-80MPH?
I'm also curious if the hatch and sedan varies with RPM?

Thanks.

I'll pay attention the next time I'm on the road on Monday.

2500 RPM is ~65mph

3000 RPM is at least 75mph, I think maybe 77 , I dont remember, gas mileage nose dives after 70 lol.

This is on the Sport model with 235/40/18's.

1.5 Turbo EX-T Manual:
65 mph: 2500 rpm
70 mph: 2650 rpm
72 mph: 2700 rpm
Most I could get. Will update if I get more.

Interesting that the hatch Sport is running 18" wheels but is turning 100 rpm higher at 70 mph than the 17" wheeled sedan. Must be the OD of the tires is actually smaller on the Sport?

gas mileage drops to 35ish per gallon when cruising over 70, I commute 85 miles a day and 70 of it highway.

Must be the extra drag of the hatchback. I have no problem staying above (usually well above) 40 mpg at 70 mph.

No wind, 67 deg F, 49 mpg at 70 mph.

Maybe a little. Probably some inaccuracy in the tachometers.

In Winter my hatch gets like 35-37 on the highway, more like 38-39 when it was warmer.
good to know! I set cruse at 70 usually, I'm happy with anything over 30 either way my odyssey only gets 20 on a good day with no wind going down hill. haha

Agreed it has extra drag.. But the temp is problably the larger contributor to the difference

I did 75 to 80 mph on premium.. Hense my post titled premium fuel.. Almost half higjway half backroad.. Many hills.. And netted over 40mpg.. Actually about 45mpg if memory serves

Rule of thumb is 2.5% mpg drop for each 10 deg F. So that would put my sedan at: no wind, 27 deg F, 70 mph = 44.1 mpg. ... which sounds about right to me.

I would like to see some "high speed" (65, 70, 75, 80) steady state numbers collected for the 6mt hatch. It would be interesting to compare.

-- but basically, I'm arguing the other direction here.. I think it's the drag. The sedan is a very slick design (aerodynamically).. I think it helps keep the engine out of boost on the highway and 'probably' results in a bigger highway mpg advantage (vs the hatch) than the EPA test cycle would indicate. Accurate steady state comparisons will tell the tale.
