250K and no motor or CVT problems. Was with Ktuner for a short while. In my area 87 octane is standard, but I've been all over and used 85 octane plenty. There is no interstate merge lane short enough I won't be at 70mph. All to say, I'm not worried at all.

It’s a scary to see other l15 blow up but i really feel like it’s user error. I’ve been tuned for 20k now on stage 2.5 . I only run 93oct or e30-35. I change my oil every 1,500 -1,800 miles. I just drained out my coolant for new at 40k . I drive slightly aggressive with some outbursts.
I really just think if you let the oil sludge one bit it’s going to fckn blow
Dude your oil is not going to sludge at 2000 miles.

There are millions of civics out there. Some are going to blow headgaskets. It's not uncommon on bmws either. I don't baby my car and not a single hiccup at near 85k miles.

50,000 miles, RV6 drop in at 25 psi and no issues. A lot of guys are pushing 28-30 psi with E fuel and probably causing the issue. Don't go to crazy unless u want to spend money

Mine went at 40k on my 2020 but I am modified and I track my car. Definitely an issue more people should be aware of

I blew the first one at 12 months and the second at 24 months. The problem is there's a fking coolant channel in between each cylinder and literally a sliver wide of gasket between cylinders and it blows out in between.

The problem really is the gasket and the head bolts. There's almost no gasket between the cylinders. Replaced with cometic gasket and arp studs and hasn't happened again after 28 months same driving style.

The 1.5T headgaskets are junk. Don't quote me, but I've been repeatedly told the rumor that there was a manufacturing defect in some headgaskets. Not sure if that's true, but they are junk. They blow out in the Accord 1.5T even more frequently than the Civic 1.5Ts, both in bone stock form. A lot of times, I can check the head for warpage and it will pass within spec, I can clean everything up and just drop in a new gasket and send it.

so preventative maintenance would be to just replace the head gasket then? what about the head studs? are those a real concern?

This guy sums up why the 1.5 is a horrible motor. Pay attention to the part about the head and head bolts. It may offer a clue as to why you're seeing so many head gasket failures.

Yea i seen this video the day i was waiting to get my car back from my turbo install lol Lets just say i still am nervous about getting on it fully.

Yes head studs are the most concern two step peformance has a arp head stud kit for our cars. I hear if you replace the head studs you should be fine the stock ones stretch
