Hi all, this might be a stupid question but I wanted to make sure. I recently purchased a CPO 2017 civic. My maintenance info section on the dash shows "Oil Life 70% code A 1 2". I understand what code A12 means and I understand that I need an oil change when the oil life gets around 15%. My question though is are those two related? Do I need to look at the items in code A12 now and that my oil is still good for a while, or is this message telling me when the 70% number gets down to 15% ill have to change the oil and also look at the things in code A12? Sorry if this is kind of a noob question. Thanks

Is it possible that the oil has not been changed in the last 12 months?

My question is basically do I need to rotate the tires and check the air filters now, or is this simply telling me I need to do those things once the oil life gets ~15%?

No.
I rotate tire once a year when I put winter tires and remove summer tires
I check filters twice a year.
I dont use MM. I know what my car need. it is not a rocket science after 50 years driving

MM displays numbers & codes for maintenance items due at the next engine oil change, along with the percentage of engine oil life remaining. (You don't have to get it at 15%, 0% or less is fine but it's an alert, and eventually an annoyance, so plan ahead.) (This is all in the owner's manual that's can be downloaded from Honda.)

Any items are due at the next oil change, if you want to follow the Maintenance Minder.

I took delivery of the car last March and it's at about 4K miles and oil life is at 20%. Anyone know what the maximum time is before oil change is recommended?

In my owner's manual, under the Maintenance Minder codes, it says "If a Maintenance Minder message does not appear more than 12 months after the display is reset, change the engine oil every year."
