might be a silly question idk, but are you reselling the parts?
If so that could help get a carbon hood to save some weight.

Yeah, ive sold quite a few. but ive also been hasty and thrown away a lot too. like the rear door panels. money has never been the issue (i realize that sounds bad, but must be said….having this and the GTI to scratch that itch has kept me from buying what I really want, a GT4). if it werent for covid and my slight parking issue at my new house, i would already have the sapphire blue with carbon buckets that came up for sale last fall).

I have made the civic (and GTI) “as affordable as i can build, with sprinkling in of some choice parts). but even those were bought on sale, or used…..always looking for best deals on parts/shipping/etc. best example is the te37’s i bought off marketplace for a steal.

New Weight - 2,395.9
Deleted some front bumper trims and the front srs impact sensors and brackets.

K&N intake came today. Will install tomorrow and post pics.

EDIT (10:40 pm kind edit lol)

Well, I did the K&N tonight.
I also did what “Creature of Curiosity” did to his white Civic posted earlier in this thread…I removed that heavy, bulky ass resonator chamber. What a fun removal that was! As seen in his pics previous page, you have to saw it in half to remove. Othwise, youd have to remove the front composite core support. PITA.

Overall K&N Weight Loss (with resonator box removal)
= 4.2 lbs (probably only 1.5 lbs of that was K&N to stock airbox. The K&N components are light. Except the steel heat shield. That is a bit heavy.

NEW Weight: 2,391.70 lbs.

Compressor delete will get me to about 2,380 lbs :)

Three updates:

1) about a month ago, I deleted the washer system and under hood insulation -2.8 lbs

2) today, I deleted some dash brackets and wiring. also cleaned up some wiring with zip ties. installed two firewall block off plugs. one from an eg civic for the bigger hole on the right and the S2000 one for the smaller one in the middle. both kind of fit haha. -1.6 lbs

NEW WEIGHT - 2,377.80 lbs

3) sold the gti back to a dealer. lost about 2 grand. oh well. i get too hasty and do things too quickly (clearly by this build).

back down to one daily. the Delete machine.

next additional car finalists:
-23 Mustang Mach 1 with the Tremec 6 speed in white or the fighter jet gray. only thing holding me back on this is weight (obviously).

-987.2 Cayman S or R 6 speed (09-12)

-981 Cayman S or GTS 6 speed (13-16)

-if i can swing it, a 981 GT4

^ had been thinking about ordering a new Cayman base model. the 2.0T is a good engine. but im more of a N/A throttle response kind of guy. plus the flat sixes sound amazing.

bro this build is crazy, do you think you'll spraypaint the metal bars inside or does that not bother you?

Dang, that new car list tho đź‘€

And nice shifter, but for weight purposes, would you be better off with maybe a stock CTR one with maybe a stronger centering spring upgrade?

For sure I need to do something to the dash bar long term. I need to grind down the sharp edges and then sand/paint it. Thinking a non reflective flat black.

Yeah, the stock shifters are definitely lighter than the full HR one I have. But those shifts be so notchy on the HR. I do enjoy them.

Yeah next add on car list getting pricey. I’d consider a FL5 but the unobtanium levels should hit 10/10.

Just a thought, would you do an exhaust turndown and delete the whole exhaust? Probably some good weight there.

With the catless dp and no interior, I worry that would be deafeningly loud.

I keep searching for the Invidia one some guys run, but it looks like they stopped selling it. However, the EX 10th gen has the same single exit routing. Invidia told me the connection at the dp might need modifying, but looking at the pics, the rest of the catback is identical LX to EX.

So i think will grab one of those. Pretty cheap at around $600. But I know it’ll be loud. Hoping for a few hp’s and at least 10 lb weight reduction vs the heavy oe steel one.

I’ve never seen this thread till today. Props to you. At that weight I’d imagine you would pull on stock 1.5t models. This is making me want to start removing some stuff out of my fc3. If I could get it to 2500lbs I’d be incredibly satisfied.

Yeah I should attach a GoPro and show a tach pull. The only slightly impressive range is from 0-80ish. Thats where the weight really helps.

I havent run a stock 1.5T. If I had to guess? Off the line to highway speeds, I should pull a couple cars. If we lined up for a 3rd gear roll? Probably about dead even. Weight doesnt matter as much on a roll.
