Ok, so a few changes.

Added some more Chasing J’s goodies. Their weighted Tear Drop Titanium shift knob and horn delete plate. Already had their steering wheel screws. The Titanium shift rod is coming next week. Tip: the Hybrid and the Acuity have a 12 mm shaft. NOT 12.6.

K Tuner update.
Kind of pissed actually. The guy I had help me tune my car about 2 years ago didnt load the flash right. He couldnt have. When I would rip the car, fuel cut would happen at like 6850-6900. Bone stock like. Anways, I reflashed it last week to take advantage of Throttle Response 1, 5100 VTEC and a 7100 fuel cut. I figured I would notice a slight difference in pedal response and have VTEC slightly stronger and lower. Boy was I wrong! The mid range is WAY better. Making me think the flash never took in the effing first place! So mad haha.

So now? The 2-3 shift at 7100 chirps tires. Nice! This car might actually hold its own out there from 0-100.

Tires.
Mulling around the idea of going bad ass on the tire front. Bridgestone has 225/50ZR15 in the new 200TW RE-71RS. About $800 bucks and my grip front should about triple.

Suspension.
Set on going Tein coils. Going to get the Flex Z for the full front top hat upgrade.

Exhaust.
I will be ordering the Invidia N1 for the 1.5T with right exit. It fits 98% and we K20C2 owners have no choices. I would love to have Ticon Titanium custom setup with their bulk tubing. But I am too lazy to set that up.

wow love the goods! I do have a question, how do you add a aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag? I'm assuming no airbag will throw a code on the dash, how do yu avoid this?

I have an airbag light on. I have a piece of electrical tape over my red warning light. I am very lucky to have started with a low trim LX. All the higher trims spell out warnings in the center of the cluster. Annoying. My car is a tiny light for srs or check engine.

Even with all the work I have done, the srs light is the only warning light on my dash.

***10/9/2022 New weight for lightest FC2 on the planet - 2,377.80 lbs***
Next steps on goal to 2,300 lbs.
1) dash beam gutt/paint
2) carbon hood and fenders
3) washer bottle delete (done sept 22)
4) custom titanium exhaust
5) final sound deadening removal

**This thread will be the Yin to the Yang of all the slammed, 19x9.5 riding, subwoofer hauling, clear turn signal, 3000 lb 10th civics driving around with their sunroof open playing some hippity-hop crap***

Now that my title has fair-warned everyone, here’s my project. A project I started out of sheer boredom with a car That’s paid for and is so cheap that I just don’t give a shiz if I mess with it.

Early November 2018 I bought a leftover 2018 Sedan LX 6MT in Burgundy Night Pearl. Actually got lucky in hind sight, as that color isn’t available anymore and you can’t get the LX with 6MT anymore.

At first I just added Eibach Pro Kit springs, ceramic tint and ditched the steelies and hub caps for Enkei TFR copper 17x8’s. Same weight as stock with tires. Much better handling and looks.

drove car like that for over a year. Got bored and with my history of tearing cars apart to lighten them, I have gotten to this list of weight removed.

Weight loss

Rear seat belts 7.8

Speakers and head unit 6.0

Rear door panels, rear floor mats, plus hardware from all removed 10.0

Spare tire/wheel 23.2

Rear tan plastic trims 5.2

Rear seat bottom 10.0

Rear seat back 21.8

Rear trunk floor cover 2.6

Trunk tools plus gray foam 5.0

Rear parcel shelf 5.0

16” rpf1 swap 23

7.4 misc trunk stuff

3.4 trunk back release mechanism, armrest, trunk back carpet

=130.4

2742 - 130.4 = 2,611.60 lbs

Future plans:

rv-6 Catless downpipe
K tuner
Hybrid Racing shifter with center console delete
2021 LE Type R radio delete panel to cover the hole I have in my dash
Seibon Carbon hood
Shorai battery
Recaro front seats
Titanium lug nuts or maybe just Rays dura
De-tan rest of interior (buy A and B pillars from Honda and have headliner recovered in black)
De-Chrome front
De-Chrome side upper trim moldings

I’ve done A/C delete on cars in the past, but now that I’m 39 I think I’d like a feather-weight car with that one creature comfort left in. Time will tell.

looking for 2500lbs and 180hp. Power to weight better than all 10th models (except Type R of course)

the car is not fast by any means, but is significantly quicker. I can 1-2 shift lay rubber now haha.

Yea but then you cant use anything while the car is off because the xspower super banks dont have any reserve. Meaning if you run your radio with the car off it will die really fast

Well, the time may have come. Heres whats happened in the past few months.

- I bought an Invidia exhaust and finally had one shipped to Hawaii. Much to my dismay, the damn thing weights 9 lbs MORE than stock. Yes, you read that correctly. Plus, the flange to connect to the front pipe is different and required some modification. Not much, but some.

-Said Invidia exhaust is hella loud. Not how my GTI was loud, but close. I feel like it added ZERO hp. Like, the worst exhaust upgrade Ive ever done. So yeah….its actually made me want to get rid of the car.

-I had a deposit on a 23 Supra 6MT in the blue. Im 6’3” so I dont fit for shit in them. Plus my BMW days are long over. B58 or not, I dont like what BMW has become. Which leads me to…..

-……a different blue car. ha. Scored a deal on a pretty good condition, one-owner 19 Si Sedan with 22k miles.

-Si came with the PRL big bore CAI and some tune on the K Tuner profile. Its torquey.

-I had planned on these 17x7 Enkei RPF-1’s (I know, just like the 16’s I had) going on the DELETE machine. But I had a good idea once the Si was purchased.

1) Sell the Hyper Blue TE’s to a friends EG 5 lug hatch.
2) Swap the heavy as hell (but good looking) Si’s to DELETE.
3) Put the already purchased 17” RPF’s on the Si with the 215/45ZR17 Hankook Ventus Evo tires. Had I known I would be buying a Si, I wouldve gotten 17x7.5’s and 225’s.

-yes the DELETE plates are going to the Si.

-So far, the wheel/lug swap saved SEVENTY lbs from the Si. Insane!

-Will be swapping the racing lithium battery and cage to Si from DELETE.

-Picked up an R shifter for cheap and swapped out the Hybrid one. Which is for sale now. Notchy life gets a bit old. R shifter is the sweet spot IMO.

-Being that DELETE is very stripped, I will be selling for under book to just unload it…….maybe. Driving it home to park and cover for good was kind of sad. Even with the heavy 18’s, the power delivery of the NA 2.0 I prefer to the Si’s L15. Even though its for sure slower.

-Funny, the Si feels like a tank compared to DELETE. Si brakes are way bigger, but initial bite/slow down way better in DELETE due to lack of weight.

Si Purchase Date - 2/14 awe <3

Stock weight = 2,906 lbs
Current weight = 2,836 lbs

Battery swap will net another 19 lb reduction. Also likely will keep stock downpipe and just delete the heavy mufflers. That should net 15 lbs (note: Honda stock exhausts are really a lot lighter than you would think, I was shocked on my 2.0).

-Other items transferred from old car to new. Blue carbon badges and Chasing J’s Titanium Shift Knob.

A sad day but this whole thread was a fun read. And very informative. Big thanks for sharing your changes and updates and keeping a thorough log of it all. I'll be referring back to this thread for a long time.

I would've followed in your footsteps in my 2015 Honda Fit had I not traded it in for my wifes 2018 Civic. I loved that car. Was down some 200lbs when I sold it.

Thanks Myx my brother. Youve been here for the long haul and helped and I appreciate your input.

Pics with the Si wheels and one side of the actual Si. ;)

3/8 Update:

Went to a junk yard and scored all tan stock seats front and rear with C pillar trims for $440. So the car is back to feeling somewhat cushy inside. Crazy I could fit 5 people in the thing now lol. All seat belts back in and all.

I had to rip that POS INVIDIA exhaust OFF! Fuck that thing is a raging piece of crap. 9 lbs HEAVIER than stock, poorish build quality. HORRID sound. Loss of torque. The damn thing easily takes the cake as the worst mod Ive done in 25 years modding cars. Anyone want to buy it?! lol.

Starting the car after going back to stock exhaust was the most amazing thing. SILENCE.

The car actually always had a nice little rumble with catless RV6 pipe and stock behind it.

I reflashed Ktuner to stock and sold the unit. Crazy how much slower the car is with no tune, 53 lbs each Si wheels and adding 85 lbs of interior back in.

Thinking……
….of selling the Si and keeping DELETE. As it sits, Im about 2,565 lbs (2,480ish if I move the RPF 17’s over from Si to DELETE). Then I will be adding headliner back in and dash (probably leave center console delete).

Also the K&N intake is garbage. Going back to stock airbox. I swear, between the Invidia and K&N debacle, I am losing faith in aftermarket mods. Other than these three things, “performance” mods rarely add anything:
1) weight reduction (clearly)
2) tunes
3) downpipe

Stock exhausts are high flowing and relatively light these days. Almost no gain to be had (other than noise and spending money).

So that puts me at just under 2500 lbs. Main mods left on will be HvAc delete, radio/camera/speakers delete, trunk stripped, center console stripped, rear bumper beam delete, rear deck lid delete, random sound deadening and bumper trims delete, washer system delete and the Ballade 7lb lithium battery with cage.

So plan is to un-pair K tuner from Si and reflash DELETE. Then sell Si.

Oh boy, the “problems” I create lol.

Man, that escalated quickly! You had the Si for what, 3 weeks?!?! Why wouldn't you keep that for the long term instead? I'm definitely biased (Aegean Blue Si sedan owner myself lol) but I believe the Si has a lot more potential.
