Awesome thread ?? I’d recommend removing the resonator box for air intake.
that looks awesome thanks for sharing. I need to order that intake so I can gut that plastic mess. Wonder how much it weighs?

Do you intend on replacing body pieces for carbon fiber? Like the trunk, fender etc.
possibly. I’m just not sure about the brutal shipping cost from Seibon to Hawaii. The hood is heavy so I’d like to start there and maybe do front fenders and trunk lid long term.

about to pull the trigger on the Canada DX A/C Compressor delete pulley and delete the A/C and blower system. That will get me in the high 2300’s. Might wait on one more summer.

I never did weigh it but I’d guess resonator is couple pounds and the takeda is lighter than oem airbox. So you wouldn’t be packing any more weight on. I’d recommend get some aftermarket camber arms for the rear and adjustable endlinks in the front. (Both aluminum) Have a room full of goodies to put on mine. Just need to find the time haha but whenever I do put the new stuff on I’ll get a comparison weight for you. Here is a little pull with intake other than downpipe exhaust is factory.

this is a pretty neat thread not gonna lie haha.
@RS27 have you considered grabbing the CTR hood, apparently those are much light than the standard civic hood.

^thanks. idk if the CTR hood will fit without adding the front fenders.

big update. *going into the 2300’s lbs* i bought a one owner 19 GTI S 6MT with the clark plaid cloth interior. i had a spitting image of it in 06 with a coupe in white. got a screaming deal from the original owner who wanted to unload it. after much detailing, and: REVO stage 2 flash, K&N drop in, USP 200 cell catted 3” down pipe, muffler delete, rear wiper delete, windshield tint to match rest, trunk tools and spare delete, Lowering springs (not installed) and 17x8 Enkei TFR’s…..shes done. for now haha. its 300whp and 350wtq at 2,950 lbs. thing moves.

you guys might recognize the TFR’s from the civic in earlier posts. i had them in the bronze. the silver looks good on the GTI.

onto the 10th….

now that i have the GTI for A/C and comfort(ish), im going full tilt on the sedan.

1) K&N intake system with stock box and shrouding delete
2) canada dx a/c delete pulley with full hvac delete. blower. a/c. digital control. everything.

waiting on above parts and then ill install and update thread.

Why did you go K&N when everyone here seems to go PRL? Edit- Sorry forgot not Si. I just had my PRL CAI installed and just getting used to turbo sounds now.

Also hands down on weight reduction probably wouldn't like me considering I'm carrying a full size tire in trunk for spare. It came in handy once right after getting. I got a 2 inch rebar pipe stuck in tire and had to pull over (was already turning into neighborhood probably picked it up in medium).

I always used to joke about cars that were missing bumpers or whatever. I'd be like ah nice weight reduction.

^thanks!

Got a little intimate with the floor of the car today and the blower box and controls.

Scraped more sound deadening. Not nearly as heavy as I thought. 2 lbs is 2 lbs though. Still have roughly 3 lbs left to remove.

Surprised how heavy the HVAC blower motor is. That with the box and filter and digital control is 6.8 lbs.

Going to have the R1234YF removed tomorrow and take out the evap/condenser and lines. Waiting on Honda Canada to release the compressor delete pulley from back order status. When that comes in, I will delete the compressor. The big boy!

New weight = 2,411.70 lbs

^as seen in the dash picture, there is a ton of extra wiring in the harness I dont need. Speaker connectors….HVAC connectors. I need to gut that next.

Well its 1030 pm and I went to town on the car. Again.

Evap out, condenser out, hvac wiring harness out, front bumper off to get air direct shrouds on either side of radiator.

13.3 lbs off. So i finally broke the 23XX’s lbs barrier—-> 2,398.40 lbs

Will take off fog light covers and dremel off some bumper underneath. Also forgot to unbolt the two front impact sensors and brackets. These small things should net another 5 lbs.

Anxious to see weight loss of final A/C component delete, the heavy compressor.
