I run mine past 'zero' regularly. Gas light comes on when I get to 43-45 miles to go. Range after fill-up is usually 470-480 miles, but I frequently go over 500 on a tank.

I would never intentionally take my SI down to empty on gas. But I did it to determine what my Max gas range is.

Made it to 9 miles left!!!

Anyone else make it lower?

I made it to 0 and drove about ~10 miles further. I obviously do not recommend doing this I was extremely late to class.

I see that this is not anywhere near the most in this thread, but I'll just add that I've driven 15 miles after Range hit 0 miles.

14 was my lowest on a road trip... I usually fill up at 1/4 a tank though.

I do know what you mean. As soon as the Range hit 0 miles, for the whole additional 15 miles to the gas station, I was trying to think of ways to explain running out of gas to my wife!

That's interesting. I NEVER fill up until the gas light is on, and it's usually with between 10 and 0 miles remaining for the Range.

Its habit... Specially during hurricane season. Last year Harvey hit Huston but there was a gas shortage in Dallas for weeks. I can get buy with 1/4 tank for 2 weeks if I drive sparingly (I live 1/4 mile from my place of employment and the store is 3/4 miles from me). Of course on road trips I will run it out closer to E... but otherwise normally 1/4 tank.

It's bad for the fuel pump. If it burns out due to no gas in the tank to cool it down. Warranty won't cover it.

Did Honda really make such a poor design on the CivicX? I've done the same with all 5 previous cars I've owned, from a 1975 Pontiac Grandville through a 2010 Mazda 5, with an average ownership of 7 years per car, over the last 36 years, and none of them have ever had a fuel pump problem. Is the CivicX so much worse than any other car I've ever owned?
