I’m in the market for a new floor jack, and I’m hoping to find one that can reach the front jack point. I’ve seen a number of threads mentioning low profile jacks, but I don’t think I saw anyone with a jack they’ve confirmed can reach the front jack point without driving the car onto ramps or anything like that. Can anyone recommend a low profile long reach floor jack that can reach the front jack point without any additional assistance (eg ramps etc)?

Not sure on the Civic, but I use this jack from Harbor Freight. My IS300 is lowered about 2", so I do have to drive it on wood, as the jack slightly touches it on flat ground. I got this a few years ago for around $70 I think after a coupon I had. Has worked great for me.

I actually purchased that jack yesterday. I had to use two inch high lumber to get it under the front end of the car, but it was fine. That jack is under 100 bucks this month.

Do you mean you drove up on a 2x4 and then were able to slide the jack under the car?

Can this HF low profile jack work on an SUV too? I have a Lexus NX which is not super high in ground clearance but definitely a lot higher than a Type R.

Yes. I used two 1x6s to make a ramp. A single 2x4 would work too.

I don't know on a suv. Check the max lift height to see.

Yes, my neighbor used it to lift his Silverado and he had no issues with it.

Harbor freight for the win! However... reading this post just makes me want to get some spare lumber for just that reason!

@Tim818 Is this long enough to reach the center jack points both front and rear? Thanks.
Yes, it’s longer than that Pittsburgh floor jack that someone posted, but you’d have to use these race ramps to see where the front jack point is, my car is lowered on swift springs so I definitely have to use these little ramps to see where the front jack point is:

Which model did you get? are you finding that you need the extension kit to make it reach between the front and rear? I think I saw another thread where they mentioned something about it not reaching, wondering if you've run into any issues. I just picked up a set and am super excited to try it out!
