Congratulations! Fellow GT350(R) owner here - you will LOVE that damned thing! So wild, so rowdy, so precise, so incredible to drive. And just plain fun!
Yep. Each drive is certainly is an experience.

I went the other way around, from the GT350 to the Type R

I bought a new 2020 GT350 Heritage Edition. Engine failed at 720 miles in less a month. I had Ford buy it back under CA Lemon Law because they had to replace the whole long block engine with an anonymous unit with no builder plate. Ultimately Ford recalled the issue but it was too late for me and many others who had this premature failure. They didn't activate the secondary timing chain tensioner on some 2019 and 2020 models. That led to the cylinders eating valves and cam followers after the chain broke. 2017 doesn't have this issue.

It's a fabulous car and I miss that naturally aspirated cross plane engine growl. Enjoy it!

I love the Type R and I really enjoy driving it and now modding it. It's the car that introduced me to my new track hobby.

Here's a thread that documents my GT350 engine failure and buy back:

Bummer re your car. Those 2020 HE's appear to be trading at silly $$.

Beautiful car. I almost bought a 2019 GT350 but I heard too many horror stories of Ford hassling owners on engine warranty claims.

Went with the Chevy and never had an issue. The LT4 has been rock solid but that Voodoo motor... it sounded amazing.
Thanks. It's all about having fun...

Maybe its just me, but Mustangs....I dont know. Maybe i need to drive one. If you like it its all good
Lot's of great performance choices out there. I've owned a fair number of european performance cars and cars like the GT350 are different. 'Better' in some ways and 'worse' in others. The CTR is a great daily driver and a great car. The GT350 is not a good daily driver; is a great car and delivers a more involved and rewarding driving experience than the CTR. It's along the lines of my 997.1 GT3 at half the price. Go drive one (and watch the youtube reviews) and see what you think.

Well, drove the GT350 all last summer. Bought it with 5200 miles and sold it with 10010. What a crazy car.

Revisited the F87 M2 Comps and e92 M3 market. Didn’t want to pay close to MSRP for a Comp so picked up this. And the Golf R is due in April (supposedly….been waiting since Jan 2022).

Ya, 4L V8, 8400 rpm redline, max hp of 414 at 8300. But not a lot of torque.
Meh drive to a cars strengths I always liked those for highway / cruising aspect not the 0-60. <looks awkwardly over at Type R>

Any issues with the BMW? I had a 2011 328i and it was always in the shop for something.

My experience with BMW's over the years has been positive even though I entered into it expecting the worst. 42k or so on my M2 completely solid drives like new. I think the M cars have a better chance of being solid but that may just be a placebo effect.

Congrats! E92 is super cool, remember having the press car as my wallpaper back in like high school lol

Wait on new somewhat desirable cars is crazy. Been like 8 months since I put a deposit on my new daily driver. Was/am first on the list for that color.....still waiting for the dealer to get their first one and give me a call.

My wife hated my CTR and only rode it once, too. We traded in her MDX for a Panamera. She loves it.

I moved on to a ZL1 1LE MT.

This is one of my favorite forums and I like to check it sporadically.

I hope you find a good BMW. That model is pretty impressive.
LOL My wife hates mine too, but she's ridden in it at least 10 times in the 4 years I've owned it.

Not bad! Lol

Mine couldn't get over, "how ugly it looks," and then the fight with Honda Corp (documented in another thread) on a warranty issue sealed it's fate. I do miss it...
