Hey all, like the title says - just looking to hear from owners who are using drop in filters. I've been having a hard time finding any reviews or feedback on them.
Ether from K&N or AFE, or whatever else is out there.

I'm mostly interested in hearing how they have effected your MPG, specifically on the 1.5T. However anything else you want to mention about it, feel free!

Thank you.

We are finishing up development on a drop-in air filter. We will be publishing data and results once we are finished.

I have the AFE drop in for my 2017 hatchback and cant say I noticed anything. Honestly felt like it was possibly a little slower? Butt dyno could be broken. Mpg was the same. Sound was none.

I got a drop in aFe dry filter. No noticeable increase in performance or sound. I got it because it is re-usable and does not require oiling the filter.

Thanks guys, I've done some research since posting. Looks like claims of increased MPG are usually false. It seems that the people who do experience increased mpg, are people who replaced a dirty filter with a K&N or something similar, whereas just replacing the dirty filter with a new stock filter would have had the same effect.
