Hey guys, first time posting. I'm planning on buying a set of Kansei Rokus (18x9.5 +38)
I want to wrap these with a 255/40R18 tire for a meaty looking stance.. is anyone running this setup or something similar. (Post pics please!) I'm also looking into dropping the car approximately 1" with eibachs or spoons. So I'd like to see this fitment in stock and/or dropped height.

This is 18x9.5 +35 on 255/35

I think the tires you're trying to fit are probably going to rub

I'm running the same setup as @86salmon except +38 offset on Whiteline springs. I have about a 2 finger tire to fender gap both front and rear. With the 255/40 tire it will be 1 inch taller overall diameter over the 255/35 which will pretty much eliminate the gap with the springs you are looking at installing, but you might rub more frequently because of it.

Also I read on here from some of the FK8 owners that going with the 40 series sidewall makes the vehicle lose some of its sportiness in exchange for a bit more comfort over bump/dips in the road.

255/40 is too big for a non-R model. Go with a 255/35 tire for that wheel spec with a drop. You could squeeze in 245/40, but you'll need to add some additional front camber or you could rub.

Not the same exact spec, but I have 18x9.0 +35 wheels wrapped in 245/40 tires and I rub ever so slightly in the front with a ~1" drop. 255/40 will be even wider and taller than this:

18x9.5 +45 with 265/35/18 on stock suspension. 265/35/18 keeps tire diameter close to stock as well.
