Coilovers and Alignment.

I'm going to be installing coilovers pretty soon. I was wondering how that would impact my alignment costs? After calling my local mechanic, their first question was if I have a modified suspension system. I really want to install coilovers, but I want to make sure that it won't raise the cost of alignments through the roof. Currently alignments are around 130 at the honda dealership and 100 with my local mechanic.

I’ve been lowered, though mildly, And never had issues with alignment. It’s only when you get aggressive that you need camber kits. The price of the alignment itself should not be different. But there would be extra labor costs in installing and adjusting the camber kit.

I’ve never had a shop raise costs on any of my cars with coils.

Unless you're going for a "stanced" look, there shouldn't be any extra cost doing an alignment.
