Long beep

Anybody else getting a 10 second long solid beep after turning the car off and opening the door? It's not the headlights as I have it on auto and that warning is multiple beeps, not one solid beep. No warnings on dash either.

I think i know what noise you're talking about. It almost sounds like some sort of electrical/relay noise. Seems pretty normal. There's still power going through some systems even after the engine shuts off. Then you'll hear clicks and what not seconds later.

Exactly ... And it's coming from the engine bay area. Maybe I just never noticed it before

My beep isn't as long 2020 civic si.. but it happens just at random.. I go to open the door and it does a small beep and then dies off.. Shit makes me tilt my head like a dog .. like you trying to tell me something? lol

Ok turns out i have two beeps.. I hear the one OP is talking about now.. sounds like ECU or Fuel pump IMO.. but this second short beep when opening the door is bugging me now.

It usually happens when you key on after a certain time period of not driving, but to my knowledge you’re hearing the relay to the in tank fuel pump. High pitched whining noise. It’s loud on purpose so if someone is working on the engine they know it’s actively trying to pressurize the fuel lines. The clicks are the wastegate calibrating.

I thought this only happened when the car is keyed on after a while but I suppose it’s priming it for a possible restart too. Or maybe it’s something else.

If my engine wasn’t on the garage floor right now I’d go check myself ?
