I’ve added (and custom made) a few interior mods I’m pretty proud of… my favorite being the carbon fiber shifter plate to show off the Hybrid Racing shifter / Chasing Js titanium shifter goodies…

Slight off topic, but how are you getting the gauges on your infotainment screen?

He's tuned and using Honda Hack and Tunerview Lite.
It sucks no one has done a torque like app compatible with Android auto yet. It seems like a no brainer. I'd pay for it, easy.

All you should need is an Android app (compatible with 4.2.2 -- that is what my '16 has installed) and a (compatible) OBD dongle for that app. Load the Android app on the head unit and connect it to your dongle. Verify compatibility to the best you can before buying. Lots of gotchas iirc. They are talking about using a standard bluetooth ELM / OBD adapter ... those are pretty widely available and reasonably cheap iirc. Watch out for WiFi vs. Bluetooth, Android vs. iOS, and genuine ELM chipset vs. whatever.

You might need to get HondaHack to let you load the Android app... it's worth it.

I looked and it seems Torque Pro is compatible with Android 4.1 apparently

https://apkpure.com/torque-lite-obd2-car/org.prowl.torquefree (Lite)

It may not work in "Android Auto" ( I don't use that, AFAIK that's like the Google version of CarPlay - which I do use)... but it should run on the head unit and it's only a tap or two away. Maybe you can't Hey Google it or whatever. With HondaHack you can have apps start on boot, and you can map the steering wheel keys to launch apps I believe. So it should be pretty easy to live with that way.

I tried looking up "Torque" on both Google and Apple stores, and everything looks like the dog's breakfast... so I'm puzzled. What I found seems to be a swiss army knife of "stuff" ...

What app specifically are you looking to use (provide URL) and for what functionality?

Most of what I was seeing for gauges could be done with TunerView Lite (with a KTuner)...
KTuner also lets you see and clear Codes, although it's not all fancy like some of those OBD tools.

Anyway for the Torque or Torque-alike thing..

All you should need is an Android app (compatible with 4.x) and a (compatible) OBD dongle for that app. Load the Android app on the head unit and connect it to your dongle. Verify compatibility to the best you can before buying. Lots of gotchas iirc. I haven't done the work but they are talking about using a standard bluetooth ELM / OBD adapter ... those are pretty widely available and reasonably cheap iirc. (which is what runs on the headunit)

If you wanted drag timer functionality, then I would get a RaceBox or a Dragy instead.

This one:

I get the possibilities once the head unit is Honda hacked, it just seems unnecessary when an AA compatible version of this app would fulfill my needs and be much simpler to set up.
