On my way home from work today on the 101 S (for my LA fam) and I was going about 50 mph. I was only about a car length away from the car in front of me when i saw a ladder perfectly centered in my lane. I had 0 time to switch lanes or even check if it was safe to do so. I drove over it hoping it wont be too bad. But oh no, i heard a scratching noise and when i pulled over on the side to examine the damage, i found my undercarriage ripped to shreds. I was LIVID! Car is only 4 months old and because someones careless actions im stuck fearing the worst. Later that day when i jacked it up i found oil covering the surface of the undercarriage on the passenger side. I filed a claim with my insurance before i even got home. Is there any way they would suspect it was my fault?
