This actually works with the non-Si Civic models as well and is plug and play.

Type R Models will require a ECU Unlock.

What does it mean? Does the buyer need to pay for unlocking if used on a CTR?

Type R ECU's are locked by Honda to block tunes and modifications.

Your ECU must be sent to Ktuner for them to unlock and send back to you. Its usually a 2-3 day turn around time from what I remember.
