In the couple days since I installed the update I’ve seen it get up to 210F a few times in just normal driving, ambient temp in the low to mid 90’s.

the cvtf warmer warms the fluid to that temp although it's not really written in the manuals or maybe i have missed or not found it yet.
80 -90 deg C should be the optimal operating temp.

AFAIK & reports from owners, keeping it below 125 deg C would be a good idea before the car starts to lose power or even goto limp mode after pushing it further to higher temps.
Thanks for clarifying brother! This is great knowledge for us CVT owners.?

Yeah, with AZ suffering the hottest temps of the year right now I'm seeing it get to 170s and slightly above when driving normally. Wish they had put a cooler from the factory as most domestics have had on their autos for years.

CVT's come with cooler in Spain, the tech is there. No idea why it isn't the case in USDM civics.

It's called cost cutting. We miss out on a lot of valuable features other markets get.

In Turkey we have the cvt coolers from the factory, too. But when the outside temp is 30s C the trans temp easily gets to 80-90s C in twenty thirty minutes city traffic. My friend has a sedan cvt custom tuned 23 psi and advanced ignition (top speed 261 km on the gauge) the highest he gets is 112 C at wot. So I wonder how high would these temps be without the cooler?

Great update for many of our CivicX enthusiasts.

Transmission Temperature monitoring for CVT available on the V2 and V1.2 with TunerView or TunerView Lite.

Update your software and it will either prompt you to update the unit firmware or you can do so through the special commands menu.

That also means there's a new version of TunerView and TunerView Lite available today.

We've also added full codebase support as a BETA option available for:

Just wondering what you consider to be a high powered USB? I want to make sure I don't mess up the KTuner unit when I update the hardware.

Just make sure it's either plugged in the obd port or on a modern pc usb which is not on power saving.

If you have a V2 make sure the display is functional while powered via USB prior to updating it. If it resets while you're going through the menus etc it's not getting enough power. A V1.2 should never not have enough on any USB port.

So the unit screen should remain on the whole time it’s plugged in?

Mine switches off on an older iMac but I haven’t had any issues
