He has a point...it is 1/10 of the cost. If and I know it is a big if, it cools sufficiently then it is hard to make the argument for the PWR. We will see...
I’m gonna go out and say that the 2020 rad will not solve over heating. The only difference is it’s marginal increase in fin density. I’ll be sure to post results here from this track weekend.

I have the Koyo rad and it was very affordable. Easy install and no over heating issues at all. Glad I decided to go that route.

Can you tell us more about your setup (any other cooling mods, and any power adders) and what ambient temps you have tracked in?

Koyo rad & PRL intercooler are my cooling mods so far. I also have afe catless dp, thermal exhaust with FP, PRL intake and ktuner. As far as temps go this was after a drive in town around 14 degrees celsius. I can defiantly get more temps throughout the week if you'd like.

I’m wondering if a catless downpipe has a larger impact on keeping the bay cool than we give it credit. Catted downpipes are known for creating huge amounts of heat.

He recommended the premium for daily + some track use. $1450AUS is something like $900 USD. That’s the route I’m going, with Acuity reverse flow silicone hoses
What were you showing in the image you sent to them? Is it the clearance between the air intake hose & radiator? Know my PRL high volume intake hose in a mm away from the radiator hose. If they have an option that lowers that radiator point very slightly that would be awesome.

But what about track temps? That's the real question.

I see what you're saying, but it would help engine bay temps/heatsoak more than water temps/overheating which is the real issue.

I was showing them the modification I made to the Koyorad to make sure the Wagner intercooler silicone hoses would fit. Took a grinder to it because I was afraid the hoses could rub the radiator frame and cut through.

Wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be an issue with the PWR radiator... especially with it costing something like $1.200 USD shipped

Didn’t have any issues with the radiator hoses with the Koyorad, but this time will be using Acuity’s reverse flow silicone hoses when switch to PWR.

This doesn’t mean much at all. A stock rad sees those same temps around town. It’s when the car is pushed hard on track in temps above 75F. You should also be looking at ECT2 which are readings after the radiator.

Hey everybody I really appreciate all of the input. Just a heads up my CTR is a 2020. I’m just looking to upgrade so I can eliminate the need for it in the future. I Like to do all the supporting stuff and then worry about making power. (Can’t wait for prl drop in turbo!)

That being said it looks like the superior radiator is the PWR? I went to their website and did not see any of their radiators listed.

also I see above where somebody’s radiator was hitting their hoses, is that going to be an issue with the PWR if I upgrade my inner cooler And piping?

if ur not tracking don't worry about it. Canyon drives you be fine.
wait some time and switch out later like in an year or so would be a better option.

No tracks around here unfortunately, I can only give you my perspective from daily driving.

Do a pull at WOT from 1 to 5 gear flat shifting up to 7000 rpm each gear , and see the temps soon as you finish with the pull , if you don’t do track the oem radiator is fine .
