Key FOB replacement

Trying to get ahold of my dealership but no luck.

One of my key FOB’s is cracked and I want to just buy the “shell.” Is reprogramming necessary or can I just transfer internals from cracked shell into the new FOB?

You can get just a shell, as the actual transponder is separable from it. Won't be any need of reprogramming if you do this.

If you've gotta get a new cover anyway, why don't you find something a little different? Maybe a carbon fiber one, or for something less expensive than CF maybe the JDM one with the Type-R logo? Here's a link to the JDM one on ebay (not mine) - Link

Edit: Just realized that link is only the back, so that might not work for you. Either way, the general idea still stands.
