I lost my key again! 2nd time in the last couple years. I do have a tag with my number on it but if it is not returned I need to prepare to find a replacement.

Have any of you gone through this? Please share your advice or stories!

you can go to honda and buy a new key fob, they will mark "ALL KEYS LOST" so that way your old key if found is not active anymore. Reprogram the key you have and the new key.
Assume you have to take the car in also to pair the keys with the car.

yep they have to reprogram the immobilizer system, delete all existing keys, program back the 1 remaining key and 1 new key.

If old key fob is somehow found it will not work but you can still take that spare key to Honda and have them program it.

The car can have up to 7 keys programmed.

So the conclusion for me - I purchased the electric part of the fob only for about $55 and dealer charged $70 for all the steps to delete and reprogram both remaining fobs. I think that was reasonable, and for me a lesson learned.
