I have the 2017 Canadian 1.5T Touring sedan.

There's a Kenda spare donut in the trunk.

Label on the side of the door says spare tire cold pressure is 60 psi.

My pressure gauge says it's at 35 psi

Prominent text on side of spare donut wall says 60 psi max.

What's your spare donut's pressure? I'm afraid to take it to 60 psi because the flimsy thing looks like it could explode lol.

I've never touched the spare donut since getting the car other than to use it as a temporary mount to do tire rotation at home.

You want the pressure closer to 60 psi. Because of the design, it takes more pressure to hold the tire on the rim.

So, I wonder who (at the Dealership) inflated the spare to 35 psi ??

If you know nothing about tires, why do you even bother to reply?

Tires lose pressure over time. If the OP hadn't checked and refilled the spare since purchase, then it is certainly possible for the spare to have lost 25 psi.

Since 2017, your tire loose pressure. I check mine twice a year.

I'm sure Scopesy did not see it is a 2017.

It just seems a big coincidence that the spare tire pressure was so close to the non-spare pressures, and knowing how incompetent some Dealers non-trained "mechanics" can be, it seemed like a possibility.

I can just imagine some "green" tech being told to go check all the tire pressures, and setting all 5 to 35 psi as part of pre-sale check.

I agree with you.

at the same time, its also unlikely that the spare sat for 2 years and did not loose any pressure. That said, always a good habit to check the spare tire pressure.

Of course it will loose pressure - really, I imagine that EVERYONE in this Forum knows that, and yes, that is the most likely cause.

The "Dealer Tech" setting all 5 tires to 35psi was more of a joke, and a dig at incompetent Dealers, than a claim to be the true explanation.

But I am certainly starting to see a pattern of members from certain geographical areas, not having any sense of humor .. a little sad ...

I wouldn't count out the unlikely scenario that some green at the dealership filled it up to 35 psi after some of the things I've seen dealer service departments do lol.

We can say that on many post on forum. Look Civic is the first car from many member. They have everything to learn.

I meet a friend yesterday, a old man. He never check spare tire pressure on his new car. What happened with his first flat tire ........
It 's not only for the first car owner....
