What about just pulling parts from a k20c1 that’s totaled from a junkyard or something? Then getting a custom tune? That way you save on the turbo and pipes and maybe oil and fuel lines?

Most Parts are not interchangeable. I got headgaskets for both and you can’t put a c2 head on a c1 block. Internals are all different. Timing chain and intake valves share the same part number though.

My advice is wait until both you and the car are ready for some serious tinkering. It may be 15-20 years down the line with this car; I suspect that the K20C2 will perform reliably for a very long time. In the meantime, just enjoy this beautiful vehicle. There are plenty of other cheap and very likely less reliable platforms for going fast.

After looking again. the type r block may work. custom pistons are needed due to extra travel with the intake valves from vtec. i thought it wouldnt work before because of 2 extra holes on the type r gasket that the 2.0 na head does indeed have.

Stick with Na these cars aren’t power houses you got need for speed get a vette or bike. Cold air, downpipe, tuner wake the car up some but don’t expect to be pulling paint from the hood lol beside 30+ mpg from a daily ??
