I remember when I increased my rev limit the first time. Set it to 7.3k and went out for a test drive.

The first thing I noticed was that power dropped off considerably past 7k, and I got an over-rev code stored, even though I never missed a shift. No CEL either.

I changed it back to 7.1k because that is where the tuning maps for the cam angles stop.

I don’t plan on ever going higher than that again. There’s significantly more power to made on the low end IME.

With some new higher comp pistons and some head work, and you will get 200hp easy

Just got it retuned for a little extra power,
Raised the rev limit from 7000 to 7500rpm so my next gear change will fall closer to vtec at 5500.

mods and dyno info in the video description
WHOOOO WEE!! got yourself a sub :headbang:that's a screamer
First pull 0-60mph in what looks to be a low 7...that's good enough :)
i can't quite reach 60mph on 2nd gear on mine...did not know Ktuner allow for more RPM...i'd like 7000RPM flush myself hehe

I just retuned my car again and it feels even better ...
main changes are :
Lowered redline from 7500rpm to 7100rpm
Less VTC angle from 6200rpm to redline
More timing added (knock control is great)
Maf scaling adjusted to get short term fuel trims in check

Can’t wait to get my new street tune on dyno to see the difference, according to the butt dyno it feels much peppier through the whole range to redline.

Did you do the throttle body coolant delete?

Do it and you’ll notice a little more pep/throttle response. I did it on mine and could tell the difference, especially with colder weather.
I live in Minnesota not wise to delete that as my throttle plate can stick in winter

Install a valve inline with one of the tb coolant hoses and open back up when it gets down to just below freezing. Besides when the engine is warmed up it’s radiating enough heat to prevent the throttle from sticking. What gains were you able to get between ktuners tune and your dyno tune?

the dyno tune based on his timing and vtc settings were were pretty conservative,
Also he didn’t tune my AFR correctly amd also my short term fuel trims were at +25%
The tuner was not that good I say ...
my street tune is feels better no bias ...
I’m mad I spent $200 bucks on that dyno tune ...
also I got my AFR better and my short term fuel trims closer to 0-10% and the maf scaling adjusted

200 for a dyno tune? Thats hella cheap.
