Just got it retuned for a little extra power,
Raised the rev limit from 7000 to 7500rpm so my next gear change will fall closer to vtec at 5500.

That is badass! I didn’t know we could do that. Did you do this yourself or did a shop do it. What tuner are you using?

Yeah it doesn’t take me to YouTube when I select the video. It only shows the video and that’s it

@mvela
You can change the rev limit here.
Personally, I wouldn’t push it that hard though.

i agree ... peak power was made around 6500 rpm ... so you should probably set fuel cut to 7000rpm ... 7500 is just for fun

Oh ok. That’s pretty good numbers for those few bolt on parts. That catless downpipe seems to make a big difference. But only if you have stock exhaust to keep it decently quiet. My aftermarket exhaust was unbearable with the catted downpipe so I removed it.

Yeah I’ll probably just keep it stock. I know I’ll try to push it too hard lol

Yes the catless downpipe is the biggest power difference and the of course the tune 2nd.... I had an aem intake before but sold it because it only added 1-2 hp up top and loss a lot of midrange and also in the summer made the car feel so sluggish because of the high intake temps ....so i got rid of the aem intake, I do miss the nice vtec sound it had ....

Be advised... I may be completely talking out of my ass, but A3s used to go pop now and then when their rev limits were raised similarly. I thought it was because the oil pumps were failing. I’m not saying that that’s going to happen to this... or the valve train can’t take it (nor am I saying you might not be close to floating your valves at this point either) just be mindful of the engine might not taking to such a high rev limit. While most folks dumped their A3s for A2s or K24A1... a little valve work and a different oil pump was advised if you were going to approach A2 revs (approaching 8000 RPM). There’s a lot of similarity specs-wise between the A3 and C2 so I just want to throw it out there that it might be worth considering.

Good luck. :thumbsup:

Makes for a better 0-60 when you just move the rev limit so you don't have a 2nd shift to hit it. ;)

yep that’s why I did it ... hits 63mph in 2nd gear now ... buts it’s not like I’ll be redlining my car too often haha ... maybe when there’s time I’ll do a proper 0-60mph run ...

It sounds great. Reminds me of my old RSXs.
