J's Racing hood is available for pre-order so I hit them up asking pricing.

"Full Carbon $3125 shipped
Carbon/FRP $2530 shipped
FRP $1850 shipped

Half down to order and the rest is not due until it reaches the US in about 3 months."

I like how it's a lot more aggressive than the Varis hood but not feeling J's Racing's signature hump on the hood (usually for intake snorkel clearance).
Also, there's no info if it comes with under trays for rainy days.

you can order it with the undertray and the mesh for the vent.

Found it!
Looks like $2,258 + shipping for CF top / FRP bottom + water tray + mesh grills.
Similarly priced as the Varis CF hood.

Wish they didn't put the hump though. It made sense for the S2K for the J's racing CF snorkel, but don't see the purpose for it on a FK8 unless they're just using it as their "signature" for their style hoods.

Yeah itā€™s definitely going to be hard to paint this hood so it wonā€™t look tacky, I have an idea of how it will look but time will tell....

they claim it's to add more area for the intake to get air. idk how much of a difference its even going to make considering the inlet isn't any bigger.

This is just aesthetics right, or is there data to show it is actually reducing the IAT's, oil temps to improve performance?

Mainly anesthetics and weight reduction.
I'll see how much it helps with cooling. It definitely can't hurt to let all that hot air out.

So what ever became of this? How does it fit and did it help with cooling from your observations?

I noticed on the 2020 BTCC in the UK, that the Halfords Yuasa race car has the vents on the side of the hood, keeping the existing front scoop..

Jā€™s Racing vented hood. Probably wonā€™t get a chance to see how it fares at the track until August or September.

Is there any reason that this would not be able to fit a Non-Si EX (CVT)?

hmm. Dunno... that said, I would imagine if went to Hondapartsnow.com and searched for a replacement hood for the CVT and Type R..... and itā€™s the same part number, it would be compatible?

Is there any reason that this would not be able to fit a Non-Si EX (CVT)?
