The card came in the mail so it only makes sense to celebrate, even if it’s a few days off.
Hard to believe I’ve owned this baby for 2 years now (or, officially will be 2 years as of 3/14/20). It doesn’t seem like that long ago I was stalling left and right and getting angry at myself for doing it. Instead of giving up, I just kept going at it.
And it worked. I’m now part of a very small group of millennials who not only can drive stick, but prefers it instead of an automatic. Half of my similar aged coworkers don’t know how to drive stick. Take that, society!
Last year was marked by lots of uncertainty, while this year is marked by hardship and stress. I’ve had a very less than ideal past couple of months to say the least. It’s gotten real bad the last month, but rather than bore you with the details, I’ll just say that the one thing that always cheers me up is seeing that big ass wing in my driveway, and even more importantly, hopping in those bright red seats, feeling that clutch pedal underneath my left foot, and hitting the glowing red start button to begin my journey.
It’s strange and probably a symptom of insanity for me to say it, but my Type R is basically an adult version of a security blanket for a toddler. Every flaw it seemingly possesses doesn’t matter, because in some of my darkest times my car has always been there for me. And that is why i don’t have plans to get rid of it anytime soon. Especially seeing as how my RAV4 transmission shit the bed last week!
Besides, what else out there offers this kind of mix of performance, practicality, awesome looks*, and value for the price I paid?

Plus, you guys are a fun bunch of people to conversate with. That’s not just the Type R forum either - it’s the whole CivicX forum. You guys are awesome and we have one kickass community here.
24 months (close enough), 26,450ish miles and lots of smiles and counting!
Bonus: the Type R content on my dresser is strong. Yeah, I’m addicted. Problem?
