Civics have always been a car for everyone.

Nah. Girl cars are jeeps, Corvettes and beetles. I see tons of guys in jeeps... and I'd love a Vette. Even beetles have a strong male following, especially for older folks that had one in the 60s.

No Barbie Civic? No gender programming. It's a neutral car.

If I was an affluent guy... it's the new car I'd buy my young daughter. Relatively safe and cheap to operate/maintain. They've got more appeal to the youth in look or tech than domestic choices, IMO. Not as boring as a Corolla. I bet there's a fair number in Elantras too... maybe Fits, though the Civic is bigger and more powerful for not much more money and economical to boot... well more than the Elantra. I'm sure it's a prime new-car choice for young people who can afford one. My daughter, in 8 years, will be lucky to have a 9 year old Red Civic with a shot paint job, flashed back to stock.
