Anyone have experience with the 2019-2020 infotainment compared to the 2016-2018?

is it any faster? Or is the speed the same. I wonder if they upgraded the hardware at all (besides the physical buttons being added).

thanks for any input

I went from a 2018 touring to a 2019 Si and idk about faster but it “feels” faster, as in all the animations and loading screens are super smooth

That probably has more to do with new car effect making you perceive it as better, and also the 2019 having less shit cached trying to be loaded.
You do have a point. I remember sitting in a 2016 Civic at the Detroit auto show and the infotainment was so laggy. I figured it was because people were pressing all sorts of menus and settings. Just like a computer, a reboot helps clear the cache/memory and helps speed things up.

Here’s a video showing how to reboot the 2016-2018 infotainment:

I noticed that the Honda press release for the 2019 Civic mentions improved Bluetooth performance. So I think internal hardware changes are likely for the 2019-2020 Civics.
