Is Tampa a ghost town now?

I remember the car scene being quite popular back in 2012, and it been a LONG time since I've been to one. I've been asking my car buddies about the scene and a lot of them aren't in it anymore. Was just wondering if there were any meet ups in the Tampa/Clearwater/St. Pete area still?

Love that area & I was down in 2011-2012 quite a bit. Use to come down once a year to see family until my accident. Haven't been in 6 years.

Brought my 11' Honda CB1000R down and had a blast with the street life!
Tons of exotic cars and stuff to mess with on the bike! One of my best memories!
The bridge races were big back then. So much to do in that area.

Family will be retiring there as well hopefully.

I found more fun in the St. Pete area but that was just me. I miss it so much.
Driving the Si down in November.

Yeah that was the time I remember the scene being pretty big, but unfortunately a lot has changed from what I'm hearing. It's just not as big as it use to be back in the day.

I live in around there too! I know this is a longshot but were u near fletcher like last Tuesday? I saw a CW CTR and I was honking but they didnt realize.

Haha nah wasn't me, but I WAS there last Monday cruising around USF area. Glad to know there's at least 3 of us in the area though

Allstate... I pay $140 a month for the R

VW, Audi, and VAG scene is still huge there - not sure about Honda's...

I'm in ellenton just north of the manatee river. There was apparently a mini meet in a Kmart parking lot near me last night..first 1 I've seen around me. I'm game to drive to St Pete. Doesn't take much convincing the wife for a St Pete run. I used to live in Wesley chapel so I'm also down around there.

Figured I'd update the Tampa threads in case anyone sees me around. I'm now in a 2018 pmm type r. I'm easy to spot because I'll probably be the only type r with the door protector strip on the doors
