Agreed with some posts here. The older gen Si in the 90's and 00's managed to gain followers into the cult. But without continuing to add new members, the Si would die. And this almost happened on the 9th gen and Honda needed to stop the sales early and make changes. The 10th gen is more broad-appealing in general with the turbo, seems getting more new members than the 9th gen.

Though here in Canada, there're still very few Si on the road given Civic has been the best selling passenger car for 20+ years in a row.
In my region I see a few of them on a weekly basis. What surprises me is that they're driven by people of all ages and a surprising percentage of them are women. I wish Honda would share information on SI sales.

There's definitely a fan base, I just don't know if there's enough for it to be considered a cult car.

I wouldn't call the Si a "culty car". Definitely reserved for something like a WRX. Those guys live, breathe and sh!t Subaru.

I would definitely call the Si an Enthusiast's car. Since it ONLY comes in a manual transmission, especially in this day and age, it's built to appeal to a certain flavor of car owner, i.e. the Auto Enthusiast.

In the more than 30 years Honda has been producing SI's,
there have been hundreds of thousands of Americans and
Canadians who have driven them, new or used, but always
with great pleasure and pride.
Most men, even those who have not have one, know what
an Si is. Many of them would have liked to have one.
Very often, I find that some men, driving their SUVs or whatever,
look at me with envy while waiting for the green light.
Yestreday, as I was getting out the bank and as I was about
to get into the car, a man in his fifties, who was passing by
on the sidewalk, told me that I had a nice car, he wanted to talk
of a car, told me he had a CRX in his youth......
Of course, I am not talking about young people who would
like to have an SI if they could afford it.
That hasn't changed. Even today, there are hundreds of
thousands of young people, not so young, (and even old, I'm
ashamed ), who are proud and happy to own an SI.
We meet a good number of them on CivicX and it increases
our pride.
