I have a 2017 hatchback sport with ktuner tsp non si tune , prl cold air. I’ve been noticing these past few days my car feels as if it’s jerking / trying to pull back or feels like it’s hopping. It’s been noticeable to me because it just doesn’t feel right and I’m hoping it’s nothing major like the transmission dying out. I do drive hard most of the time

This might not be exactly relevant here, but I have a 2.0L with the CVT and it does exactly what you describe, but at low speeds. Slowing down from 30km/h to a stop and just hovering over the the brakes it kind "stutters". I did some reading on this forum and it seems like a common issue with these CVT's, unless the 1.5T CVT is significantly different.

Have you done your transmission fluid service yet? Mine got noticeably better after changing the fluid.

A simple drain and fill doesn’t really get all the old fluid, most of the fluid is in the torque converter which is pretty hard to drain. Your typically supposed to drain and fill the transmission fluid 2-3 times which gets most but still isn’t 100% of the fluid. Never suppose to flush a Honda trans though

I believe Honda calls for only one drain and fill once the maintenance minder pops up. I could be wrong here though if anyone wants to chime in.

Yeah it’s just 1 drain and fill, but the thing is you don’t drain ALL the CVT fluid. There’s no actual way to drain it all because the most of the fluid remains in the torque converter. There’s no way to drain it unless you hook it up to a machine to flush the system (which you aren’t suppose to do in Honda transmission EVER) or you open up the transmission. So in order to get to the fluid stuck in the converter your suppose to do multiple drain&fills. I always did 3 flushes and that gets about ~80-90%.

I’d ask if they used OEM cvt fluid or another brand. That’s the one exception of fluid that I buy Honda brand. Everything else doesn’t matter if it’s oem or not, buts transmission fluid you don’t mess with. Buy Honda CVT fluid. You’d be surprised how delicate the CVT trans and auto trans is when using non-oem fluid

I was having this behavior, but since I changed the RMM it was almost completely gone, the mounts in our CVT transmissions are plastic and yours aparently is weak maybe is broke or the rubber is already worn a by use, when you add more HP/torque through the tune it can speed up the wear process.

What RMM did you get? I hope it’s just that but right now it’s either misfiring , bad spark plugs , transmission belt feels as if it’s slipping and not holding down the power
