Mine says Honda under the CarPlay profile
That’s odd mine says “vehicle”. Are you 2020? Anyone else with 2020 says vehicle in the profile?

I had to forget this car “Honda” for both my X and my wife’s X to get our vehicles to recognize it again.

I have an '18 civic and an iPhone with iOS 14 and has absolutely no issues when connecting it. Really strange.

I have had something like this happen to me before. I have a 2018. I used to have an iPhone 8 before it broke and regularly connected it to carplay. I replaced my 8 with an 11. I guess the change in software with carplay ended up blacking out my infotainment screen and there was no volume. I tried to fix the infotainment by resetting it, but that didn't work. I disconnected the battery, still nothing. Went to the dealership to "hard reset" (they told me only they are able to do this), and it began working correctly. I just updated to ios14 and I am fine.

I had been running the Beta for over a month and I had absolutely no issues.

I would probably reset the infotainment or hard reboot the iPhone. Running iOS 14 n working fine in my civic, been on the dev beta since first release. -‘19 Civic Sport

Running 14.2 now. So far all seem fine after restarts and re-marrying phone from head unit. (crossing fingers)

Currently running iOS14 on a XS and have yet to have any issues with CarPlay. But it’s a totally different story when it comes to iOS14 running smoothly on my iPhone.

(2020 Type R) I've had issues with carplay going black screen after a restart. Had to resort with using honda hack and wireless (auto kit) and that's working well. But now with LogR (has to be via wired) I was hoping OS14 will fix but still same result.
Interesting. I would do that but cant really use the touch. Should be getting it fixed soon.

Does anyone else have a volume problem? I start the car, the music starts fine, volume limit is raisable all the way to 40 (i think, there are a lot of thin bars), then after a few minutes the volume drops and if i try to raise it i only get the 10 thick bars, also raising it all the way to 10 doesn't seem to affect the volme that much, i have to start a phone call and hang up for it to go back to the regular 40 bars (or so).
Thats what mine has always done with Phone calls but after I hang up it usually goes back to the 40 scale.

YouTube a hard reset on your touch screen, should refresh and debug anything.

I’m on the new iOS along with a 2018 si haven’t any issues since day one - good luck!

Would love to but the power button is part of the touch interface. No use there unfortunately. Taking into Honda soon!

I've noticed myself having more problems in the past week or so after updating, not sure if it's directly related to iOS 14 though

Issues with volume not playing loud from music, sometimes my waze doesn't work and freezes, sometimes my device just isn't recognized and my carplay system will stop recognizing my phone if I keep plugging in and out resulting in me restarting my system
