Instead of sticking these things in the air vent (which in my opinion looks bad), I pulled out the cabin air filter and put one in there. The cabin air filter is very easy to access. Just drop down the glove box (by squeezing the sides), then you will see a black plastic cover. Again, just squeeze the two tabs on both sides and it will pop off. The filter itself is paper, and slides in and out easy.
Just make sure you put your air freshener on the input side of the filter (top).

In case you're wondering, the scent sticks are from BMW, they smell nice :)

I see that you just used the stick by itself without the starter kit?

Correct - I still have the full kit from my last car (which was a bmw) but there is no need for it.

I just use some chemical guys mangocello spray and that seems to work pretty well, you have to spray like once a week though. Before that I hid an air freshener in the lower charging port pocket area.
