Noticed an issue with my map lights a few days ago. I always have mine set to door so they come on when the doors open. Well I was sitting in my car for a while at night and I noticed that the lights were still on. Very dim but still on.

Has anybody noticed this yet, or am I the only one?
I'll post some pics later when it gets dark.

Did you swap to LED bulbs? Mine does it with LED bulbs.

The LEDs are barely dim when I get into the car. Then they are like 1/5th brightness when you start the engine.

Then when you shut the engine, they switch to the standard "really bright."

.gif here shows the three stages of brightness.

I have since switched to off for the time being. Even though they draw less power.

Is there a giving fix?

Me either, never had this on all cars i switched to led. Probably a resistor would fix it.

I noticed after 1-1.5hrs the led completely shut off.

I believe it depends on the type of LED bulb you have, this is not unique even to Hondas. Some manufacturers build the 'bulb' with a resistor, some don't. The resistor is able to stop the tiny amount of current still flowing, without that the electricity makes to the the LEDs and you get a little glow action. Why the circuit is designed as such is a mystery to me. That circuit should shut down completely after 5-10 mins to prevent battery from draining when you forget to shut your dome and/or map light(s) off.

The bulbs i am using came from my 2016 accord exl and the same bulbs on my 2017 pilot. Both cars never had this issue, it only happened on my si.

Bizarre, I'm back to scratching my head then for this one.

I have another led kit for my wife's pilot. I'll try those and see if that fixes the issue...

Thanks for all the help
