Thinking about doing an aftermarket intercooler in ready for my cai. Debating between mishimoto and prl intercooler. Anyone know the difference? Which one should I alternatively go for? Thinking about getting a PRL Cobra CAI in the future so maybe the prl intercooler to match it?

Both are great. I like the mishimoto a bit more but the PRL with billet endtanks is top as well.

You can choose with or without upgraded pipes

If you plan on going FBO and re-tuned in the future, upgraded piping will help out, if you only plan on a CAI and the intercooler it's debatable, depends on your funds. PRL I would say is probably better if you plan on a bigger turbo eventually as you'll have a lot of room for extra flow. I put mishimoto's IC as more of a stock turbo to FBO intercooler. Past that it'll still work but PRL will probably be better as I feel they spent a bit more time designing the whole package.

It depends on airflow (CFM) you’re aiming. To simplify, you can use horsepower as quick reference.

Mishimoto posted an article that covers this topic:The Ultimate Guide for Intercooler Selection

There is a table in that article that you can use as reference regarding intercooler piping size.
Got some really good information from here. It really simplifies things as well. A good read for anyone looking to upgrade intercoolers. Thank you!
