So your saying it will be worse then the stock intercooler?
In certain aspects yes. I still recommend the C&R intercooler above anything.

How long did you have to wait for the FMIC?
I order my PRL parts in May and still no ETA on them.
Intercooler took a couple weeks. They might have a couple on hand though I’m not sure atm

From reading Fatherspain build thread, I am considering now the Wagner Tuning intercooler. Most likely will be getting HKS

I don’t track at all and don’t plan too , I usually roll race & that’s really it
Perrin intercooler is too tall that block air flow to the rad, not good for heat soak.
Both HKS and PRL are good, they are both 178mm tall, compare to perrin 215mm..
If you dont care about Heat soak problem, you can basically go with any brand.. even cheapcheap PLM will do.
just my 2 cents

Are you sure hks will be direct bolt on , people keep saying you gotta trim and cut some stuff to make it fit

You need to trim the air guides that go beside the HKS intercooler. No other trimming necessary. I’m currently running the HKS with IC piping.

I have it on my car since last year, I didnt trim anything.. attached a picture.. ppl are talking about the black flap piece that near where it shows HKS .
some people trim it, I just took it off. which doesnt affect any air flow..

Just to compare thickness of the two, HKS is 100mm and the Wagner is 125mm. Both are too thick if you’re concerned about coolant temps on track. No problems for street driving though. I wouldn’t go larger than 87mm thick

87mm would be a good choice overall, especially if you're planning on staying out on track for the full session. Would HKS be "better" for 3 laps around the track just to get a fast lap clocked in?

I’m not sure if there would be a difference in lap time really. I’ll try to datalog some WOT pulls before taking off my HKS. I’ll stack it again my C&R IC. Though I suspect the C&R to outperform the HKS in a smaller package
