You will be fine. A check engine light might come on with a downpipe but it's nothing to worry about.

Are you flashing a basemap or a custom tune? You really should be looking to a custom tune once you add a downpipe.

I will Go with a custom tune. I need to protect the clutch as well...that’s my only concern now.
The reason of this upgrade is manly releasing the pressure on the turbo and better airflow. If I gain 10hp I am super happy anyway.

You won't lose your clutch on a 50km drive, no worries. Just don't floor it everywhere you go.

Wagner Tuning intercooler is a good choice and what I have. PWR or C&R Racing intercooler would be strong considerations if had to do it again.

Just be sure to purchase (2) T-Bolt Clamps to get a good seal on the pipes at the intercooler. I had some troublesome boost leaks until I took that step.

Do you have a link for these bolt clamps?

Can see what I'm referring if click the #109
Unfortunately I do not remember the size I chose, but it corresponded to whatever comes with Wagner's FMIC. I ordered them here:

https://www.mcmaster.com/t-bolt-hose-clamps

Imagine they are also sold locally to you if want to save on international shipping.

Its good practice to perform a boost leak check after installing your FMIC to verify no leaks and avoid any goofy CELs or idle spike issues. Not sure if there is a difference in inlet tube size from an R to an Si, but concepts should be the same.

While we are at it, here are some links that might help with your DP install if planning to do yourself. Different downpipe, but same concepts. Good luck! ;)

Do you have a link for these bolt clamps?

Have you installed downpipe yet? I am on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the results!

not yet. I am waiting for the honda service to open up and get me scheduled.
I am excited as well. mainly because this pipe is euro6 certified so the annual check will not be affected

That is good how your honda dealer fits aftermarket parts for you.

Do you think this downpipe will be more quiet than most on the market? I am wanting this one as i have the intercooler with piping and it works very well.

not sure. I guess so. Ideal for me is to get the better flow and less noise. at the end of the day this is a daily car.
and i chose this one because it's approved and i can get the annual polution tests.

Don't worry abouts traveling to your tuner. Just don't go wot all the time, mainly from high gear / low rpm as the stock turbo will spool ultra fast and will tend to overshoot by 2-3 psi , so your low/mid boost targets will need to be adjusted.
But driving around will not be a problem.
