Installing, Connecting, and Unlinking JB4 Tuner on Civic Type R (FK8) with Wireless (Bluetooth) Connect Kit
This unofficial guide is intended to clarify some of the steps on the official JB4 Install Guide found below. Please read that first. I just took some clearer pictures and made some comments, hopefully, to make it easier for the next guy. Overall, it's a very easy installation. This guide also covers one common connection error and shows you how to unlink the Wireless Connect Kit from your account before selling the tuner. I'm just a satisfied user (former) and have no affiliation with JB4 or Burger Motorsports.
As always, use these instructions at your own risk. No support will be provided here. Please contact Burger Motorsports / JB4 directly for any support issues.

Preparation: Open the hood, lock the doors, place your key far enough from the car not to wake it up, and wait 5 minutes for the vehicle's computer to go to sleep.
Overview: The JB4 harness has two similar looking connectors on it. The one with the brown colored wires will attach to the TMAP sensor in the front of the engine, while the one with the rainbow wires will attach to the MAP sensor on the back of the intake manifold. When installing you’ll unplug the factory plug, attach the JB4 plug, and plug the factory harness in to the matching JB4 connector completing the circuit.
For Civic Type R
Tip: It's quicker and cleaner to route the cables first before connecting them to the TMAP and MAP sensors (see sensor locations in the next two pictures).
The connector with rainbow-colored wires connects to the MAP sensor near the middle aft of the engine.
The connector with the brown wire connects to the TMAP sensor below the brake fluid reservoir.
Final connection is to route the small end of the OBDII wire through the weather seal between the hood and driver door. Make sure to line up the number "4" from both female and male connectors before plugging in.
There is a small opening between the driver-side fender and weather seal for the OBDII wire to route through and into the engine compartment.
View from inside the driver door. The larger end of the wire (OBDII connector) connects to the OBDII port under the dashboard.
To enable the Bluetooth wireless connect kit, download and install the JB4 Mobile app (IOS/Android), create an account (username, password), login, turn on your car and Bluetooth on your phone, and hit the Connect button inside the app. If you see an error, see next screen.
A new user will sometimes get a connection error when they try to connect to the JB4 through the JB4 Mobile app. Take a screenshot of the connection error and email it to [email protected] . They can resolve it fairly quickly during workdays.
To prevent the above error, unlink the Wireless Connect Kit from your account before selling the JB4 tuner.
1.) With the JB4 tuner and wireless connect kit still attached to the car, switch on accessory power.
2.) Connect to the wireless connect kit in JB4 Mobile.
3.) Go to the Account screen in the settings tab of the app.
4.) Tap the 'Unlink Current Kit' button.
