I got them to replace my head unit a while back. It had the newer firmware. So far, it has been much more pleasant, and if it does screw up, a reboot resolves it A far cry from what it had been doing.I was able to get video of my system having a meltdown, so I made an appointment at a dealer not far from me to look at the car. Hopefully the Honda extended warranty approves of the work and they can either update the software or replace the unit. Fingers crossed..
Good luck. I don't know why they can't just issue a FW update....if they have to replace the unit to update the FW...that's a HUGE design flaw (and a costly one).
