Recently read an updated post on xda-developers. Tested on my 2018 CTR and it works. Sequence for developer mode is as follows:
(Copy and pasted from xda site)

First, hit "Build number" the 7 times it takes to ask for the "passcord". No more than that!

Then, hit these buttons in the following sequence:

1. Kernel version
2. Model Number
3. Build number (Again!)
4. Status (Top item on the page)

Just realized mattj949 posted this in a current thread. He's the OP I copied the text from on the xda-developers forums so thank you to him and sorry for the repost.

So with this, can we easily link Tunerview and Ktuner to our center display unit?

pretty sure the passcode isnt the problem, its most 2018 head units that have the 2018 version in the settings block some bluetooth devices from connecting like ktuner and flash pro. There are early 18 builds that have 2016-2017 software versions that work

I just posted this in a different thread. I just installed TunerView Lite on my 2018 Type R head unit. Here is how I did it. I also had a 2018 SI which would not pair to Hondata, so I was happy the Type R model worked.

1. Install Hondahack

2. Download the TunerView Lite apk to a thumb drive

3. Install TunerView via Hondahack and the thumb drive

4. In the Ktuner software, make sure BT pin is disabled on the OBD II dongle

5. On the car’s head unit, go to Settings then click on Bluetooth.

a. Make sure BT is activated on the head unit and make sure nothing else is connected (I had my iphone connected first and it gave me problems. Then I tried connecting KTuner first and then connecting my iphone second and it worked).

b. Scan for devices

c. Ktuner should pop up. Click on it. You may need to click on it twice. It’ll then say something along the lines of “pairing was successful”

6. On the car’s head unit, click on Applications and open TunerView

a. Swipe right and click on BT and KTuner should pop up. Select KTuner it should connect

I tried connecting without doing step #5 and it didn’t work.

It still doesn't pair to my phone though either, which is probably the more odd of the two issues. I'll email KTuner.

Got the phone figured out, I just had to pair it in the TunerView app and it's fine. No dice on the infotainment but I think we've beaten that horse to death. Good thing is, since the phone works now, I don't have to worry about the unit itself which is good.
