Im about to pickup a ktuner 2nd hand question

Im about to buy a used ktuner v2. When i meet up with the seller, is there a way to verify if the unit is already unlocked without connecting to a laptop? Is there anything else i should look at when buying used one? Thanks

When powered on, it should say "Unlocked" at the bottom of the screen. Not sure there's much else to look at as long is it looks in good shape and that all the connectors look fine and the pins aren't damaged.

Told myself im gonna wait before my warranty expires but that would be in couple of years and i dont have the patience for that. Lol!
The seller said he used the ktuner from previous gen civic. Will the ktuner work for fk7 civics?

Hmm id call or email ktuner real quick and ask. I honestly dont know.

Bring a laptop with Ktuner installed already.
Connect Ktuner to your car and laptop
Go through the Register and update drivers.
See if it asks to lock to your ECU
Answer solved.

I did this when I met up with someone local selling a Ktuner V2.

What if you dont have a laptop?

Well you don't actually need the Laptop to see if it locks to your car. You need it to load the tunes though so you'll need to borrow somebodies. I hope that's a hypothetical question though in this day and age.
