Have you found a measurable amount of lowered intake heat soak with this hood?
visit the j's racing website they have production numbers of air temps when running the hood on the track. The bump in the hood actually does support cooler air temps. That is the closest data i could find to really knowing if the bump in the hood actually works. Shoot combine that with the prl hvi system, match made in fk8 heaven

For anyone that picked up the hood locally... does it fit in the hatch? Or is a truck needed to transport it?

Can someone advise how much these are going for?
1) CW painted FRP with all CF vents showing?
2) All painted CW FRP?

I like this look alot!

all prices are on the icb motorsports site. The hoods do not come painted to match the car. There are several choices of this style of hood to match your preference, prices range from 800 to 2800 dollars.

email matt for more information if needed, also icb has a very active fb and ig account, they respond to direct messages very quickly.

Last time in emailed for a inquiry they had one full carbon hood with rain guard in stock. They next shipment according to matt ( owner of icb motorsports) will be in july

These are prices from J’s Racing USA. There may be cheaper options dunno.

Full carbon top/bottom = $2,992

Carbon top/ FRP bottom = $2,363 <- J’s said most people get this one. This is the one I ordered.

Full FRP = $1,665 <- makes sense if painting the whole thing

**optional**
Rain guard = $200
Aluminum mesh = $70
Hood pins = ?. Unsure if needed.

The paint and body shop quoted $700 for paint and clear coat. I’ve heard clear coat is a must otherwise the CF will deteriorate over time with exposure to the sun.

One could also try a vinyl wrap if wanted to revert back to the CF down the road. Once the CF is painted it’s a done deal.

Have not yet gotten a quote for PFF film and ceramic coat which will be applied after the paint. So that would be an additional cost... then there is sales tax.

it adds up quick :(

i was wondering the same thing, ill have to test fit my hood to see if it fits in the hatch, if not ill haul the hood with a truck and follow behind the truck. I plan on designing a custom paint job for the hood,i actually already have the idea, i am confident they can handle the job.

Boosted180sx private messaged the Varis hood fits in the hatch, so it’s highly likely the J’s will also ;)

wow that is great post, love the photos. ICB Motorsport pricing is a tad cheaper only bc there is not "j's racing markup". Hood is manufactured by the same factory.

well here it is the final product, icb motorsports carbon top/frp bottom hood.

After ordering the hood from icb ( not pre order), i was lucky enough matt had one in stock, i didn't have to wait 3+ months. Waited a few weeks to arrive to my house. Then the hood sat in my garage for 2 months due to i was in the process of moving.

After moving was finished, took the hood to my local painter dude, they fit the hood ( perfect fitment better than OEM they said). Prepped the hood then then a few phone calls later and photos later the paint scheme was agreed upon by me and the paint. Here you have it, a one of one icb motorsports/first molding cf hood.

Congrats, looks straight ? ? ctr_no650!

Picked up my J’s Racing CF/FRP hood last night and will be taking for paint and clear coat followed by PFF/ceramic...Hoping it’s not some insane amount, but probably will be.

Wish I had known about the ICB version when ordered several months ago... could have saved some $$$$

yeah the paint cost wasn't to bad, mine was $600, i actually knew about the icb version way before the j's racing version. the hood is actually made in the first molding factory in suzuka japan. Icb motorsports distributes for them i believe. and j's racing just re-lables the hood for their company
