had a rain storm here in Jax Florida and was the perfect time to test the hood and it did really good.

it all drains at that hole in the latch and on the side holes and the only thing is it puddles some water in front of the center vent.

lucky with the fitment so far. installed it with no adjustments made and it sits really good.

had a short clip of how i close the hood. had no concern at all coz it latches really easy.

only thing i nitpicked was they could’ve made the cover in carbon also for the full carbon hoods and had mesh on the side vents coz i thought about debris like leaves dropping inside.

should’ve weighted the hoods but its a considerable difference in weight with the full carbon v OEM.

Hey, so, unrelated to the hood (great pics, BTW!): what’s with the SSQ BOV? I’ve seen other CTR’s running it. Not recirc’d?

Guys what's the measurements for this hood? I want this on my FC1 Si for aerodynamics purposes. I know it's not going to be a direct fit lol so I'll probably have to remove the latch and use hood pins

Yeah I second this, wonder why everyone is vent to atmos instead of recirc

Beautiful man. Part of me regrets not spending extra to go full carbon instead of 50/50, even though I had 95% of the top painted over, heh. Would have been worth it to see all that CF every time I’m working on the car ?.

Absolutely love the J’s/ICB hood. The only drawback is I don’t know if there is any good way to install hood pins if it were ever needed due to the snorkel... has anyone done so? I’ll ask Yasu next time I pester him.

Nice to see the HKS BOV, Radium and the J’s engine cover in the bay. You have good taste brother ?
thanks buddy and yes its nice as you can see when the hood is up ?

i thought about that too a spot where to have hood pins for extra security but i read somewhere in my case for a full carbon hood that you don’t need hood pins since its very stiff enough and has no flex that you don’t need one but not sure. the closest track i go to go as much as 100mph so its not much of an issue but let me know what they say.

oh yeah got other parts to have in the bay just waiting for extra stuff coming before installing everything ?

there’s been a debate about BOV on the FK8 to not do it coz its MAF tuned you just have to look for that. i have mine for 2 years now.

Right, yeah, I've seen the debates on that. Seems like the consensus is the effect on STFT & LTFTs is detrimental, but if you've had no issues for 2 years ??‍♂. Hopefully, it stays that way. That BOV sounds neat, also!

In order to run the HKS BOV properly, I’ve read it’s supposed to be in conjunction with a speed density Motec tune as opposed to MAF.

So not to go too deep here is a concise discussion here.

I love the HKS BOV. Sounds super cool with the optional purple insert and sounds different running on Motec as opposed to the OEM ECU.
