I don't feel like a 1.5l 4cyl saves much money in gas over a 6.2l V8

Not to mention, here in Socal, driving a 450hp car or a 205hp car, we move at the same pace for half my commute (my drive home) anyways.

$18/week = $936/year. If that's nothing for you, then it sounds like you made the wrong choice and you should've stuck with the Camaro. You should've looked at the EPA numbers to estimate gas savings cost, and insurance sites provide quotes. It just sounds like you didn't do your research at all.

The newest Camaro SS is fun as hell though!

I guess I'm poor but I'll take the $1000, 0-60 in the high 6's, good reliability and 40 mpg from my Civic every time.

Add that $1000 per year in fuel savings to about $500 less per tire change, and double the number of tire changes in the Camaro. Now add $10 each oil change and double every repair bill, while you're at it double actual number of repair visits. Add the $15k msrp difference, and add to that the fact that the SI may actually be worth more in resale than the Camaro if you hold on to it long enough. You are spending tens of thousands more over the life of the cars to own the Camaro.

Having come from a moddified Mach1 that got 18MPG average and now is in an Altima getting 24MPG(lead foot) there is a NOTICEABLE difference in how often I have to go to the gas station, and the price difference from 93 to 87.

When you factor in the savings on gas, maintenance, and tires, and the low depreciation with Civics, the savings wold practically pay for the Civic if you keep it for ten years.

Yup that is something the OP isn't considering.

Less stops as a gas stations should be in the equation too.

Less exposure to robberies, credit card fraud, less time lost on your commutes, etc

Are you bad at math? Or out of touch?

Someone driving 18,000 miles a year will pay (between the better mpg and regular vs. premium gas) $1400 a year more.

I drive ~25,000 miles a year, that's $1900 a year, or $160 a month. $160 a month is a significant part of my car's payment.

Ive skipped all the comments just to say, is this for real? You are only taking into account the gas savings? Lets just totally ignore the initial price difference and every other expense that comes with owning a v8 and then not taking into account which car will hold its value better. You really think the only important thing was the $3.80 gas savings lol. Dude, hop back on your pony car and heady back to chevy forums.

Huh. Seen more MILFs with Camaros lately :hmm: guess that's a different type of respect tho ;)
chicks have always dug Camaros. my high school girlfriend bought one. If she drove one now, Id consider her a Milf in Camaro, and no we arent married to each other lol
