No drone but you have a 2018 as compared to the OP who has a 2019 ... maybe 2019 different and they did not tell? I drove a 2018 Left over and bought a 2019 - I swear the clutch is different as far as the 2018- It was softer than the 2019?

For those of you who want a louder exhaust sound. How many miles do you have on it?

When I bought my Si, I felt like it was electric car quiet. Now, 62k miles later. I was driving today and thinking, I hope my girlfriend doesn't start whining how load the exhaust sound is. It's definitely been slowly getting louder and louder. I hope it doesn't get any louder than this. Much louder and I may start thinking about having to replace it.

We all agree that stock is a bit too quiet. In looking for a bit more sound, I almost went with a muffler delete, but decided to go with a resonator delete since the research/videos showed that a muffler delete is a bit louder and also has drones at certain rpms. I've been really happy with the amount of tone the resonator delete gives and no drones!

I am coming up with a plan was well and may too be filled with regret ... LOL ... My plan is to lock in the Borla ... I see summit racing is selling for less than $800. The S type exhaust with Borla speeds up the exit of exhaust gasses as part of the ploy to increase HP. I am going to add a BOV plate which is going to increase the temp of the exhaust. In theory a hot exhaust expelled more quickly than stock should at least prolong the life of my cat giving me both the 89.9 DB of the Borla (27 pounds vs 46 stock) so .... I will I have pssst psst that EVERYONE truly wants going on and a very good quality sound sans any drone! Sounds good .... like a porn vid ... LOL ....step aside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked their work and it's perfect. I am 68 yrs old and have had my share of muffler deletes. This case of drone is really loud. I will b ed at muffler shop 10 am and have fingers crossed.
68 years old and worrying about making your car loud so you ghetto chop it. But too broke to mod it properly. Poor decision for someone of your caliber.

I am sorry that the transformation doesn't suit you and I understand your disappointment.
My car produces a very beautiful sound, my friends and even my neighbours have told me
several times.
Inside, I hear the turbo at low rpm and when I am accelerating ( glug..glug..glug..) and at
high rpm it's the sound of the K&N, it's like a siren. The recipe?
Mishimoto air intake + AEM charge pipe + Afe Takeda down pipe.
No modification to the rest of the exaust system. Changing it, increasing the diameter
does not really bring benefits .
Oh yes, no drone! Quiet on the highway.
Good luck for your next move.

Does a resonator delete make any lights pop up in the dash

The muffler delete in my opinion actually sounds really good. I paid $100 to have a shop cut the mufflers off, I couldn’t justify paying $1000+ for a whole exhaust system. Plus weight reduction bro lol

The 1.5 Civic comes in THREE exhaust flavors. Not 1, not 2, but 3 exhaust flavors. In stock form there is little difference between the LX and the Hatchback Sport but there is some. The SI in my opinion has the best combination of flow and sound. When you make a general statement about exhausts and you have not added one to your car, you come across as a noob. Turbo cars obviously benefit from hi flow cats and cat deletes but they also benefit or suffer from the rest of the exhaust system. Its all one system from head to tail. People have left the intake and downpipe alone and added cat-backs and seen 20 more horses. So, perhaps you are happy with your intake and Takeda downpipe and perhaps you have an SI with its beefy, stock exhaust, but for those with HB Sport or LX hatches, it will make a big difference on flow and sound for them to increase from 2" to 2 1/2" or 3" and to use quality race-spec mufflers and resonators.

I have to agree with you. I left my intake, down-pipe and mid-pipe stock and added a aFe Takeda 3" to 2--1/2 Cat-back performance exhaust and definitely felt a performance boost over the stock exhaust, although several members of this forum say that there are no performance benefits to adding a performance exhaust. aFe claims 10 whp, some say that number is BS, really no way to know without putting it on a dyno, but at $200/hr it's not really worth finding out
