I finally found a 2019 Si radio unit and swapped that and I have no issues. Everything from the 2019 works perfectly fine in my 2018. All functions and controls work properly.
So you don't have the dimming issue that people are talking about?

The brightness of the infotainment should automatically dimmed when headlights are turned on to ease your eyes in the night.

I’m so eager to do that since I can one cheap, but the dimming issue is putting me back from doing it.

if you just swap the screen you will have those issues. I swapped screen and radio unit itself too.

Ok, so the sockets at the back of the complete infotainment is literally plug and play?

What I’m about to get is a complete infotainment.
