If you believe that turn off the ignition with the car in gear and behold compression braking in your CTR. The engine just returns to idle and uses minimum fuel not zero.

My drive home from work is only 11 miles, but I hit 48.2 mpg yesterday.

The last out of town trip was 83 miles, and averaged almost 43 mpg - about half interstate and half backroads.

I recently moved and have a 200 mile daily commute, round trip. I keep it at 65mph 70% of the time. The rest is 60mph. Earlier this year the colder weather was giving me 38mpg but now that itā€™s warmed up Iā€™m hitting the 40ā€™s. I long data to Fuelly.

Managed to get 54,7 mpg on a 75 miles trip on the Autobahn yesterday night.

Metric numbers:

I was traveling behind semis a lot, that means cruising arround 57 mph (92 km/h). Without any kind of slipstream the 1.5T sedan with the CVT can do that with 1500 - 1600 rpm. Slowest speed was 49 mph (80 Km/h) it's wasn't possible to drive any slower because otherwise semis start tailgating aggressivley. There also were some medium inclines and declines. 1400 ft up and 1240 down:

- Outside temperature 24 Celsius / 75 Fahrenheit

- AC off
- sunroof and side windows opened slightly
- ACC (cruise control) off most of the time

- E10 gasoline with 95 octane
- 0w40 Mobil 1 engine oil

- 17 inch wheels
- Vredestein Quatrac 5 (all season tires)
- tire pressure 2.2 bar = 31 psi

If I continue driving like this I'm can reach 560 miles with one tank. For that I have to drive 65 miles past "0 miles left"

I have a 108 mile round trip Monday through Friday. I bought my 21 Civic a few weeks ago. This has been my average..all hwy with one quick 45mph in the middle. When I fill up each week now, I am getting 518 miles to empty! WooHoo!

Too bad I can't drive this slow here. The current record is hold by @UberCivic .
He managed to get 635 miles with one fuel tank in his 1.5T sedan even with a CVT. In another post he said that he is slipstreaming behind trucks, half the legal distance. And he had a KTune, maybe that improved the gas mileage also somehow.

I finally got a tank with mostly commuting mileage and only a dozen or so small trips from my wife to bring the mileage down. If I took her under 50mpg trips away and went a little more past the zero mark I could be pushing 60mpg's and a 700 mile range.

Makes you really wonder if the iTunes is worth it.. Iā€™ve also thought about doing the intercooler upgrade as well to get cooler temps. But.. is the cost worth the saved MPGā€™s. Maybe over time, how much time. Excel, here I come.

Please let me know how the calculation with Excel worked out. ?

I've read some posts on the german forums, were some people claim to have a way better gas mileage after a tune.

I think it's hard to get realistic data because most people tend to drive faster after a tune, which obviously means fuel consumption goes up.

The KTuner software has some options like fuel cut setting, rev limiter, idle settings, fuel injector, idle throttle flow. Maybe there will be a Hypermiling Tune some day. ?

How much tire pressure are the real Hypermilers using here?

Donā€™t think of myself as a ā€˜realā€™ one, but I do like my mileage. I run ~32psi but Iā€™d run 35psi if I were trying harder.
